SAN FRANCISCO  Wearing the theme “IN DIASPORA: I.D. for the New Majority,” San Francisco World Arts Pageant boasts a dance card this is nearly overflowing. On faucet are premieres from Liz Duran Boubion’s Piñata Dance Collective, Ranko Ogura, Jessica Fudim, Abhinaya Dance Corporate, and Annie Kahane’s Alive & Smartly Productions, in addition to performances from Ensambles Ballet Folklórico de San Francisco, Natasha Adorlee’s Idea o4, inkBoat, Nash Baroque & Dance Thru Time, STEAMROLLER Dance Corporate, Diamano Coura West African Dance Corporate, and Samudra Dance Creations. NEW YORK CITY  A night-length choreo-poem impressed partially via the paintings of Ntozake Shange, PURPLE: A Ritual in 9 Spells premieres at Lincoln Heart’s Clark Studio Theater this month. Devised and carried out via Sydnie L. Mosley’s SLMDances collective, the dance-theater paintings includes a multigenerational, femme ensemble of 12, illuminating sisterhood as a power for social exchange. Created in group with senior citizens of the close by Amsterdam Properties, this iteration of PURPLE seems as a part of Lincoln Heart’s ongoing Legacies of San Juan Hill venture, which examines the varied neighborhoods that had been forcefully displaced within the call of the appearing arts heart’s development within the Nineteen Fifties, and is gifted in affiliation with Gibney Gifts. CHICAGO  South Chicago Dance Theatre makes its Auditorium Theatre debut with the premiere of Memoirs of Jazz within the Alley, an evening-length tribute to jazz saxophonist Jimmy Ellis, the daddy of choreographer and SCDT govt creative director Kia Smith. June 10.

SANTA MONICA  At first deliberate to commemorate the seventy fifth anniversary of the top of the Holocaust in 2020, Memoryhouse makes its long-awaited debut with Los Angeles Ballet at BroadStage this month. ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, NY  Justin Peck and Sufjan Stevens sign up for forces as soon as once more for Illinois. BOSTON  Kairos Dance Theater groups up with vocal ensemble Renaissance Males and sinfonietta Sound Icon Orchestra for its Folktales, Fables & Feasts program. On faucet are FOXY, a modern cabaret interpretation of Stravinsky’s Renard—a satire in accordance with folktales relating to a cockerel and a hungry, deceitful fox—and Tavernous, a modern take at the “Within the Tavern” motion of Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana that includes playing, gluttony, and the fickleness of fortune. June 24–25.
